Lockdown in Kashmir Valley continues on 34th day

Lockdown and communication blackout by the Indian occupation authorities across the occupied Kashmir has entered 34th consecutive day.

According to details, the people of the region have been suffering from immense difficulties due to communication blackout and shortage of essential commodities including baby food and life-saving medicines on 34th day of lock down.

As per details to prevent people from holding demonstrations against move of scraping articles 370 and 35A of its Constitution through a rushed presidential decree on Aug. 5 to the held valley.

According to the Kashmir media service, Indian police martyred a civilian in custody in Handwara town yesterday.

The civilian, Reyaz Ahmed Thekri who was arrested on Wednesday was severely tortured in custody by the police. He died in the lockup of Qalamabad Police Station in Handwara town.

On the other hand, A 21-year-old Kashmiri student was tied to a pole and assaulted by a group of Hindu fanatics in Alwar district of the Indian state of Rajasthan.

Meer Faid, a seventh semester aeronautical engineering student from Baramulla area of occupied Kashmir, was attacked by Hindu fanatics and forced to wear women’s clothing in Neemrana town of Alwar district night.

The brother of the victim Meer Faisal said that “They took him to an isolated place where he was forced to wear a woman’s clothes. They then instructed him to walk around the market in those clothes,” he added.

Faisal said that despite registering an FIR, The police are not taking action against the culprits instead they kept Faiz in custody all night and tortured him.
