At least 15 security forces personnel were killed in firing by suspected separatists in Thailand.

According to a foreign news agency, fifteen security forces personnel were killed and five were injured in firing in the Yala province of Thailand.

According to police officials, the officers were shot while performing their duties at the check post. The attackers used heavy weapons in the operation.

The attackers immediately escaped from the crime scene.

Immediately after the incident, rescue teams arrived at the scene, from where the bodies and the injured were taken to the hospital, police said.
