Heavy rain, wreak havoc in Dubai

DUBAI: The Largest mall in the world, Dubai Mall was flooded on Sunday.

The heavy rains has enveloped the United Arab Emirates.

The videos and photos on social media showed the world’s largest shopping mall suffering leakage after rain lashed the region.

Some area of the mall can be seen getting flooded but the shopping center remained open for customers.

Dubai media office shared some pictures on Twitter,

An Emaar spokesperson said, according to the Dubai Media Office, “Dubai Mall was affected by the heavy rainfall, causing leakages in limited areas.”
“We are working to contain all leakages and the mall remains operational and open to the public. Mall staff are on the ground, ensuring the visitor experience remains unaffected.” Emaar group’s spokesperson added.

Videos circulating on social media show a few inches of rainwater flooding some shops in part of the huge mall.
Digital & Social Media strategist, lecturer & marketeer Mr Andre van Niekerk shared a video on Internet.

Heavy rain also affected the flights. The disturbed atmosphere was observed  in the Airport.
“We urge customers to check Dubai Airports’ website www.dubaiairports.ae or airline websites for updated flight information. Dubai Airports is working with airlines and other service partners to normalize operations and minimize inconvenience to our customers,” the spokesperson of Dubai Airport said.

A social media user shared a video of the road of Dubai during this heavy rain.

Dubai Police urged drivers to reduce speed during heavy rain to avoid any hydroplaning.

The Meteorological Department also said, people should avoid unnecessary exit from their homes until the rains fall.
Be clear that it has been raining in Dubai for 3 days.
