In occupied Kashmir (IoK), the situation continues to remain far from normal in the Kashmir Valley as well as Muslim majority areas of Jammu and Ladakh regions as New Delhi-imposed clampdown in the name of security entered 101st running day, today.

Apart from heavy presence of Indian forces, restrictions under Section 144 remain enforced in the territory.

Internet across all platforms, SMS and prepaid mobile services remain totally snapped in the Valley and Muslim areas of Jammu region

As a form of passive resistance against Indian occupation and its Aug 5 illegal actions, the people living in the Kashmir Valley continue to keep their business establishments closed and stay away from offices and educational institutions.

Most of the public transport also is off the roads.

Despite the partial relaxation of restrictions by the occupation authorities, people in the Valley continue to down their shutters and stay away from schools and offices as part of a civil disobedience movement against India’s illegal actions of revoking special status of occupied Kashmir and dividing it into two union territories.

People staged forceful demonstrations in different areas, yesterday, to show their resentment against the Indian occupation and division of Kashmir into two union territories by India.

At many places, the protesters were subjected to brute force by Indian police and troops. Many demonstrators sustained injuries in the brutal actions of the forces’ personnel.
