British blood on Soleimani’s hands, says UK Prime Minister

As US Iran tensions soar following the Iranian General Qasem Soleimani’s assassination, UK Prime Minister said the slain general had blood of British troops in his hands.

Taking questions in a weekly House of Commons session ,British  Prime Minister  Johnson threw his support behind Washington as US-Iran tensions soar.

He said Soleimani had British blood on his hands.

Johnson said no British personnel injured in the Iranian attacks.

He said UK doing “everything we can” to protect its interests in the region.

Iran’s missile attacks on military bases in Iraq “reckless and dangerous”, Johnson said, as he called for “urgent de-escalation”.

“Iran should not repeat these reckless and dangerous attacks but should instead pursue urgent de-escalation,” he told Parliament.

Johnson, criticized for not cutting short his holiday in the Caribbean to address the escalating crisis, said the UK working hard to “dial this thing down”.

Johnson alleged Soleimani was involved in arming Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthi movement and Hezbollah.

He also said Soleimani supported the government of Syrian President Bashar Al Asad and was behind attacks on British troops.

Earlier, Iran attacked military bases in Iraq housing US troops.

The attack came in retaliation for the recent killing of Soleimani near Baghdad International Airport.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched at least 13 ballistic missiles targeting two Iraqi military bases.

These bases where US military and coalition personnel stationed.

Mourners packed the streets for ceremonies to pay homage to top Iranian military commander Qasem Soleimani.

Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei led vast crowds in prayers at the funeral of Qassem Soleimani.

However, he publicly weeps for the general killed by a U.S. drone strike.

The crowd clutched portraits of their hero and gathered at Tehran University.

On the other hand, Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei presided over prayers for the slain Iranian general.
