Donald Trump warned Iran on Sunday (Jan 12) against killing protesters who have risen up over the regime’s downing of a civilian airliner.

He also said that his defense secretary left the door open to talks with Tehran without preconditions.

As protests continued in different cities across the country, Trump took to Twitter to warn Tehran that “the world is watching” and “more importantly, the US is watching.”

“To the leaders of Iran – DO NOT KILL YOUR PROTESTERS. Thousands have already been killed or imprisoned by you, and the World is watching. More importantly, the USA is watching. Turn your internet back on and let reporters roam free! Stop the killing of your great Iranian people!” he tweeted.

Earlier, Donald Trump warns to launch heavy sanctions on Iraq after the parliament votes to ban the American forces’ presence in the country.

Speaking to reporters on Air Force One , the Donald Trump warns and said Iraq would face heavy sanctions.

His comments came as tensions spiraling between Tehran and Washington over US assassination of Major General Qassem Soleimani.

Trump further defended his earlier remarks about striking Iran’s cultural sites, accusing Tehran of terrorism.

“They’re allowed to use roadside bombs and blow up our people and we’re not allowed to touch their cultural sites?

It doesn’t work that way,” he said.

This while targeting cultural sites with military action  considered a war crime under the international law, a point previously brought up by Iranian officials.
