Eighteen security members and a citizen died due to the clashes that happened in two provinces in Afghanistan on Sunday night.

District Chief Mohammad Omar said that 12 security officials and a civilian died in one clash whereas five police officers were injured as activists launched an attack on a district police chief’s house in Khwaja Ghar district in the province of Takhar.

The official said, “The initial information found eight Taliban militants were also killed during the clashes following the attack on police chief Mohammad Ishaq’s house”.

On the other hand, a defense ministry source says that 6 Afghan security forces members died as a clash took place in Zabul province the Afghan security forces and Taliban militants in Arghandab district.
