Coronavirus has hit all 50 states in the US as West Virginia confirmed the first case on Tuesday.

West Virginia Governor Jim Justice said, “We knew this was coming.”

New York City is all set to impose a lockdown similar to the one in San Francisco.

Over 6,300 people are infected from coronavirus in the US whereas 108 people lost their lives.

Nearly 8,000 people have lost their lives due to the virus and around 200,000 cases are confirmed globally.

International news agency states that Mayor Bill de Blasio told that he would announce the decision within two days whether to ask the residents to “shelter in place”.

“It’s a very, very difficult decision,”

“We’ve never been here before. I have never heard of anything like this in the history of New York City.”

Residents in San Francisco have been asked to stay at homes until 7 April.

US Vice-President Mike Pence said that the US military is likely to be asked by the White House to establish field hospitals in virus hot zones if state governors request.

He also announced that the Army Corps of Engineers could be ordered to arrange field hospitals. Called MASH (mobile army surgical hospitals) units or help expand hospitals that already exist.

Pentagon chief Mark Esper informed that the US military would arrange 5 million respirator masks and up to 2,000 ventilators to the US health department.

He also informed that 14 certified coronavirus testing labs to test non-military personnel.
