Europe has been declared as the “epicenter” of the global coronavirus pandemic, according to the World Health Organisation.

Head of WHO Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus termed Europe “epicenter”. He has insisted the countries adopt strict measures such as community mobilization and social distancing.

He said, “Do not just let this fire burn,”

He urged the countries after many European countries reported increasing number f patients and deaths.

Note that Italy has reported the highest death toll outside China.

Italy has reported 250 deaths in the past 24 hours. The death toll reached 1,266 where several cases are 17,660.

In addition to this, Spain has been the worst affected country after Italy. There are 4,231 cases of the virus whereas 120 people lost their lives.

WHO says there are more than 132,500 cases in 123 countries.

Dr. Tedros said, “Europe has now become the epicentre of the pandemic, with more reported cases and deaths than the rest of the world combined, apart from China,”
“More cases are now being reported every day than were reported in China at the height of its epidemic.”

On the other hand, South Korea has reported 107 new cases on Saturday, national tally reached to 8,086.

But 204 patients have been released from hospitals where they had been isolated.

A health Ministry official said, “It’s the weekend, and we understand that you feel frustrated, but please stay at home and avoid contacting with other people as much as possible,”

President Donald Trump will “most likely” be tested for coronavirus “fairly soon,”.

He announced to be tested “fairly soon” after having been in contact with people who have self-quarantined or have been tested positive for coronavirus.

Donald Trump shared his decision during a Rose Garden press conference where he had declared a national emergency over coronavirus outbreak. He had also decided to collaborate with the major US companies to extend testing facilities.
