King Salman partially lifts curfew; keeping 24-hour curfew in Mecca

Saudi King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz ordered to partially lift the curfew in all regions of the Kingdom. From 9am to 5pm, starting Sunday till Wednesday, May 13. While keeping a 24-hour curfew in Mecca and in previously isolated neighborhoods.

The order also allowed the opening of some economic and commercial activities.

The activities include wholesale and retail shops in addition to malls, in the period from 6 to 20 Ramadan. From Wednesday April 29 to Wednesday May 13.

King Salman, because of Coronavirus reduced version of Taraweeh prayers in the two Holy mosques Mecca and Medina. The General Presidency of the Affairs of the two Holy mosques have prepared a comprehensive plan to implement on the precautionary health measures to avoid spread of COVID-19.

The plan includes complete suspension on the entry of worshipers in the Holy mosques and to increase sterilization process for those entering in the mosques. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia plans to ease curfew hours it imposed on several cities during the month of Ramadan. This decision taken to allow people more time to shop for essential needs for Ramadan within their neighborhood boundaries.
