The coronavirus pandemic is spreading rapidly around the world and now the UK has become the dangerous country in Europe owing to highest number of COVID-19 fatalities.

According to the data released on Tuesday, the death toll in Britain has exceeded to 32 thousand and the data suggests that UK has a higher death toll than France, Spain and Italy.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who waited longer than other European leaders to announce a lockdown in March to stem the spread of the lethal virus.

According to weekly figures released by the UK’s Office for National Statistics, the death toll in England and Wales rose by 7,000, bringing the total to 32,313.

Statistics are one of the different ways to calculate mortality and are difficult to compare with other countries, but there are clear indications that the UK is the most affected country in Europe.

Opposition parties have raised questions on Boris Johnson’s decision to delay the lockdown in the country.

Opposition further said that Boris Johnson had delayed conducting public testing and providing safety equipment to the hospitals.

There are also fears that the actual death toll from the coronavirus in the UK could be higher.

According to the Office for National Statistics, an estimated 33,593 people were killed in England and Wales by April 24, but there were still 27,365 cases in which death cause due to coronavirus written on the certificates.

The novel Coronavirus, which started in December last year in Wuhan, China, has spread to more than 185 countries around the world.

The virus has so far infected more than 3.5 million people and killed more than 2.5 million.
