US tightens visa policies for Chinese journalists amidst COVID-19 outbreak

The United States government has issued new directives to tighten visa guidelines for Chinese journalists.

This decision by US comes as a response to treat US journalists in China, the shifts come whilst ongoing tensions between the two countries due to Coronavirus outbreak.

In issuing the new regulation on Friday, the Department of Homeland Security cited what it called China’s suppression of independent journalism.

According to the regulation, Chinese visas will limit to a 90-day period, the option for extension will also implement.
