Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has expressed his condolences to the family of a mentally ill Palestinian man who was killed by police.

On May 30, Israeli police shot and killed a 32-year-old man with a mental illness while he was on his way to school, and police misunderstood that the man was armed.

Speaking at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting, the Israeli prime minister expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and said what happened with the man was a tragedy adding that that person had autism and we know we made the mistake of thinking he was a terrorist.

The incident happened in the city where the victims had been studying at the school for the past six years.

Thousands of Palestinians protested against the firing and killing of a Palestinian man by the Israeli Police, and a similar incident happened in the United States, where people are protesting against the killing of Goerge Floyd.

Note that Protests erupted after a video surfaced on social media showing a 46-year-old black man named George Floyd being strangled on the street of Minnesota (northern regions of the United States) by a police officer while the man was saying in a low voice. “I can’t breathe, don’t kill me.”
