Anyone who will hold Eid ul Adha gatherings in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, will have to pay a fine of 10,000 dirhams, while participants will also be fined 5,000 dirhams.

Abu Dhabi Police has issued a fresh warning on the occasion of Eid ul Adha, under which violators will be prosecuted and heavy fines will be imposed.

Police have issued a warning about the coronavirus to prevent a possible spread of the virus as a result of events in the city.

In this regard, people have been directed to celebrate Eid at home by showing responsibility.

The host will be fined 10,000 dirhams and participants 5,000 dirhams each for violating these restrictions and holding any event, invitation or party.

Officials said the public needs to maintain social distance even during the Eid days and avoid any family gatherings, especially during the four-day Eid-ul-Adha holidays, to prevent the spread of the virus.

The public has been directed to extend full cooperation to the authorities and in case of any event, the concerned agencies should be informed and prove their responsibility.

On Tuesday, UAE government spokesman Dr Omar al-Hamad issued a warning to 47 people from the five families who organized the event after diagnosing them with the coronavirus, instructing the public to exercise caution. The victims of the virus were careless, did not wear masks and did not maintain social distance.

In view of the Eid-ul-Adha holidays, the government instructed the people to refrain from meeting relatives and to greet each other on Eid through electronic and communication means.

In the United Arab Emirates, 59,921 people have been infected with the virus and 347 people have died.
