After lifting the ban from congregational prayers, the Masjid-e-Nabawi administration has banned children from entering the Prophet’s mosque due to coronavirus.

According to details, entry to the mosque with edible items and other drinks have also been banned by the administration. People will only be allowed to bring drinking water with them.

On 20th March 2020, the Saudi government had banned worshippers from praying in Makkah and Madinah’s mosques as well as other mosques in the country due to the coronavirus outbreak in the Kingdom.

Hani bin Hosni Haider, a spokesman for the General Presidency of Makkah’s Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah said,

“The Presidency and the security and health authorities decided to suspend the presence and prayers in the outer squares of the Grand Mosque [Masjid al-Haram] and the Prophet’s Mosque [Masjid al-Nabawi] starting tomorrow, Friday.”
