“To our community, We’re sorry”- International brand apologizes for selling prayer mats as rugs

An online international clothing brand ‘Shien’ has apologized to everyone for selling Muslim prayer mats as rugs on its site.

The mats were sold as ‘Frilled Greek Carpets’ and had images of the Holy Kaaba on them.

The Kabaa is a building in the center of Makkah and considered the most sacred place for Muslims all around the world.

The brand got criticism from people around the globe on social media for disrespecting Muslims.

The retailer has now apologized through social media and removed the items from its site and wrote,

“To our community. We’re sorry.”
