Mali’s President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita had stepped down from his presidentship hours following soldiers grabbed Ibrahim from his residence as part of a coup following periods of mass rallies on alleged fraud and worsening protection in the West side of African land.

The report of Keita’s removal was answered with celebration by anti-government nationalists this Wednesday. Throughout this period the officers of the military coup stated they would establish a federal change and staging votes in a “reasonable time”.

The soldiers behind the coup – calling themselves the National Committee for the Salvation of the People – appeared on state television in military fatigues, pledging to stabilize the country.

The soldiers operating behind the coup called themselves National Committee for Peoples Salvation. They appeared on the federal tv in militant weakness, as they were promising to support their country.

“We are not holding on to power but we are holding on to the stability of the country,” stated Ismail Wague, Mali Air Force’s assistant director of personnel.

“With you, standing as one, we can restore this country to its former greatness,” stated Wague, declaring borders were shut, and a lockout was advancing into impact from 9 pm to 5 am onwards.

“This will allow us to organize within an agreed reasonable timeframe, general elections to equip Mali with strong institutions, which are able to better manage our everyday lives and restore confidence between the government and the governed.”
