An Australian court has ordered the Dreamworld theme park operator to pay the fine of $2.5m over the deaths of four people on a malfunctioning water ride.

According to the details, Two women and two men identified as Kate Goodchild, Luke Dorsett, Roozbeh Araghi and Cindy Low died after raft crashed into another and overturned, crushing them. The incident happened in 2016.

The fine was followed by the findings that the operator had ignored warnings and not done safety checks. The company said in its statement that it accepted responsibility and had worked to improve safety standards.
