New Delhi: A ruthless father has sold his three-month-old daughter to buy a motorcycle and a mobile phone in India.

According to Indian media reports, the incident took place in Tinakal village in Chikkaballapur, Karnataka state. The brutal man, who was working in the fields committed the crime with the consent of his wife.

According to the report, the man informed another man from the village of his intentions, who contacted a childless couple in a nearby village and through him the father of the baby girl sold his daughter to a childless couple and received 100,000 Indians Rupees.

After selling his daughter, the ruthless man bought a motorcycle worth Rs 50,000 and a mobile phone worth Rs 15,000.

According to Indian media, when the neighbours saw the baby girl missing and found a motorcycle and a mobile phone with her, they became suspicious and informed the police.

The Child Welfare Committee recovered the girl. Police have also registered a case against the couple after which the accused has been absconding but his wife has been taken into custody.

The girl’s mother said that her husband had threatened her after which she agreed to sell her flower girl.
