On Tuesday, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, the Emir of Kuwait has passed away.

According to the details, the emir had been ill for some time and was frequently traveled abroad for treatment.

Earlier today, Kuwait’s television channel stopped its daily programming and broadcast verses from the Holy Quran. On the other hand, the Kuwaiti stock market had also fallen 2.2 percent on 29th September 2020.

The emir had returned from the US earlier this month, following surgery for an undisclosed condition.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan also expressed his condolence over the death of the Kuwait emir. He wrote,

“Deeply grieved over demise of HH Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Amir of Kuwait. انا لله وانا اليه راجعون .We extend our heartfelt condolences to Crown Prince, Al Sabah family & to the Kuwaiti people. Amir’s contributions to Pak-Kuwait relations will always be remembered”
