Saudi Arabia celebrates its 90th National Day , known locally as Al-Yaom-ul-Watany, on September 23 today to commemorate the marvelous efforts of King Abdul Aziz and his men to unify the Kingdom. A new year is added to history from the days of the Saudi homeland and a bright page added to a record full of achievements, goodness, and peace, and a new memory for the unification of this great country by the late King Abdul-Aziz bin Abdul Rahman.

This day marks September 23rd, 1932 when King Abdulaziz announced the unification of the country as a kingdom.

The Kingdom marks National Day with folk dances, songs, and traditional festivals. The roads and buildings are decorated with Saudi flags.

Wednesday was announced as a holiday – and Thursday for private-sector employees – and the air show will be the largest for National Day celebrations, with 60 military and civilian aircraft.
