Second phase of Umrah pilgrimage to start from 18th October

The second phase of performing Umrah is starting from October 18 in which more than 200,000 local pilgrims will be allowed to perform Umrah.

The Saudi government had allowed a phased ban on performingS Umrah after October 4, in which only 6,000 local pilgrims could perform Umrah.

Hani al-Omari, a member of Saudi Arabia’s National Committee for Hajj and Umrah, said that in the second phase, more than 600,000 worshipers would be allowed to pray at the Grand Mosque, in addition to 2.5 million worshipers.

He said that apart from Roza Mubarak in Masjid Nabawi, the old part of Masjid Nabawi would also be opened for this phase.

It is pertinent to mention here that from November 1, in the third phase, foreign pilgrims will also be allowed to perform Umrah and attend Roza Sharif. However, it is not clear how many countries will be allowed to perform Umrah.
