Unidentified gunmen opened fire at the Saudi embassy in The Hague, the Netherlands.

They said the incident occurred at the Saudi embassy in The Hague at 6 p.m.

Pictures aired on local channels show bullet casings scattered on the road and bullet marks on the embassy stand.

No arrests have been made since the incident, Dutch police said.

A police spokesman said it was too early to say what caused the shooting at the Saudi embassy, ​​but that an investigation was underway.

A statement from the Saudi embassy called the incident a “cowardly attack.”

The statement added that Saudi nationals in the Netherlands should be careful.

The Saudi embassy praised the Dutch authorities for their prompt response to the incident.

The statement expressed hope that they would await an investigation into the incident and bring those behind it to justice.
