The French presidency has said that France President Emmanuel Macron has tested positive for COVID-19.

According to the details, after the symptoms appeared, the 42-year-old took a test and will now be isolated for seven days, says the palace of Elysée.

Mr. Macron “is still in charge” of leading the country, said an official, and will operate remotely.

To help cope with rising cases there, France this week placed an overnight lockdown.

As per figures from Johns Hopkins University, there have been two million reported cases in the nation since the epidemic started, with more than 59,400 deaths.
