Saudi Ministry of Health said that the process of vaccinating coronavirus has started in the kingdom. 1.5 million people have registered on the first day of vaccination.

Dr Abdullah M. Asiri, assistant secretary of the Saudi Ministry of Health, told International media outlet Al Arabiya that more than 1.5 million people signed up on the first day to get the coronavirus vaccine.

He said opinion polls had shown that about 60 to 70 per cent of Saudis and non-Saudis wanted to be vaccinated.

On Thursday, Saudi Arabia launched the first phase of a coronavirus vaccine campaign targeting people over the age of 65 and high-risk workers. He said the launch of the vaccine was a step towards ending the epidemic crisis.

On Thursday, Saudi Arabia’s Health Minister Tawfig F. AlRabiah was given the first vaccine against the coronavirus. The vaccine is being provided free of charge to residents of Saudi Arabia and foreigners, while the Minister of Health has confirmed that we will have vaccination centres in all cities of the kingdom.

Dr Al-Rubayeh added that the vaccine would not be mandatory but optional. “We want to make the vaccine safer, we want to provide food for all against coronavirus,” he said.

In Saudi Arabia, the Infectious Diseases Committee confirmed that the elderly were the first to be involved in the vaccination process, while the Food and Drug Administration insisted that the supply of the corona vaccine in Saudi Arabia had been officially approved. Is.

On Wednesday evening, the second consignment of the Pfizer vaccine arrived at Riyadh’s Shah Khalid International Airport.

Earlier, the first shipment was delivered to the capital, Riyadh. On Tuesday, the Saudi Ministry of Health announced that it would begin registering all citizens and expatriates for the corona vaccine through the “My Health” application.
