A security official in Tehran said that during the emergency landing of the Turkish plane, the sound system sounded the alarm by mistake. It was a technical glitch in the automated system, but it was caused by a Turkish plane.

According to CNN Persian, the Turkish plane deviated from its route and entered the no-fly zone, where alarm sirens sounded for half an hour.

The main reason for the alarm siren was a Turkish passenger plane. The automated system considered it a ballistic missile and replaced it with a warning siren.

The power went out for several hours after the siren sounded. Hamid Reza Ghodarzi, Tehran’s assistant governor for security affairs, said the alarm siren sounded in western Tehran because of a technical fault in the system at the Shahrak Azmayesh Colony.
