On Friday night, a high-intensity earthquake of magnitude 6.1 jolts New Delhi and many other parts of North India.

According to the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake’s epicenter was Amritsar. The depth of the quake was recorded 10 km at 10:34 pm.

No casualties were reported so far.

On the same night, the earthquake tremors were felt in different cities of the country including Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

According to reports, tremors were felt in different areas including Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, and Mardan around 10 pm on Friday.

The epicenter was reported at 6.4 on the Richter scale, according to the Meteorological Department.

The epicenter was reported below the Tajik border. According to the seismological center, the quake struck at a depth of 80 km.

So far no damage has been reported from the quake.
