Russia’s Sputnik V covid-19 vaccine gets approval from the European drug regulator on Thursday, it will be used across the 27 states of Europe.

The Russian Federation said they were ready to provide injections for 50 million Europeans as soon as they get the green light from the Amsterdam-based European Medicines Agency (EMA).

“The rolling review will continue until enough evidence is available for formal marketing authorization application.”

The clinical tests and lab authentication have indicated that Sputnik V activates the production of antibodies and immune cells” that can protect against Covid-19.

The developers of the Sputnik V vaccine said in a statement that,

“The start of the rolling review was a “major step for (the) vaccine’s approval for use in the EU.”

“Following EMA approval, we would be able to supply vaccines for 50 million Europeans starting from June 2021,” said Kirill Dmitriyev, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF),
