The Chinese government has installed and inaugurated the world’s first traffic signal for camels at the Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Spring in Dunhuang City.

According to media reports, the area in the north-central Gansu province is a popular attraction, where camel-riding tours are given to tourists.

The main objective of the installation is to prevent camel collisions at Mingsha Mountain and Crescent Spring.

However, the traffic stop began to work on Sunday.

Media reports further added that the traffic light has signalled for both tourists and camels and will be safe from bumpy rides and further ensure road safety.

The humped beasts can cross the road when the traffic signal turns green, whereas tourists can cross when the signal turns red.

Furthermore, visitors have claimed to have heard loud noises beneath their feet when they walk through supervised snare tours or slide down a sand mountain.
