London: A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the bodies of three women and a man were recovered at a home in south London, British police said on Monday.

After receiving reports of a disturbance at around 1:40 a.m., officers stormed a home in the Southwark neighbourhood of London (0040 GMT).

“Inside, they found four people suffering what are believed to be stab injuries,”  according to a statement from the Metropolitan Police.

“Despite the efforts of emergency services, all four people– three women and a man — were pronounced dead at the scene.“

The precise cause of death will be determined by post-mortem testing. The man was detained at a police station in south London.

The five suspects were considered to be acquainted by the detectives.
