Airplane crashes into food storage, causing massive explosion
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said that an “unidentified” plane collided with the General Mills plant in Covington early Thursday evening.
According to the agency, the incident occurred at approximately 7:05 p.m. (local time) at 15200 Industrial Park Blvd. NE plant. Several tractor-trailers were damaged in the incident, as evidenced by photographs from the scene.

It is located approximately eight-tenths of a mile southeast of Covington Municipal Airport’s eastern runway edge.
On-scene reporter Denise Dillon said that Covington authorities stated that the plane exploded upon contact and that no one aboard survived.
She tweeted: “Covington authorities give an update on plane crash at General Mills plant. They say the plane exploded on impact. No one aboard survived.”
According to witnesses, explosions were heard following the accident.
According to FOX5, the plane collided with some trailers at the General Mills factory shortly after taking off from the Covington airport.
Photographs show a plume of dense, heavy smoke rising from the factory, as well as several tractor-trailers that have been damaged.
Although the incident appears to have occurred outside the plant, the entire amount of the damage has not been determined.
