Enraged because her kid wasn’t getting enough food in the cafeteria, a Florida lady was jailed for allegedly making a bomb threat to her son’s high school.

Anaya Metoya Smith, 41, was arrested on Wednesday in connection with a threatening voicemail she made at Cocoa High School at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 3, threatening to “bomb… up” the school, according to the probable cause affidavit. Cocoa is approximately 45 miles east of Orlando.

She has been charged with false report of bombing or arson against state-owned property, a crime, and disturbance of an education institution, a misdemeanour.

“If you don’t start feeding my… children better… I’m going to come around… and blow that mother… up,” Smith reportedly said in her voicemail, according to the probable cause affidavit.

The next morning, a school worker who heard the message phoned law authorities, and the school was evacuated and searched, but no evidence of an explosive or hazardous item was found.

The number used to make the threat was listed as Smith’s mobile phone, according to the affidavit. Smith didn’t leave her name on the voicemail, but a review of the school’s records revealed that the number used to make the threat was registered as Smith’s cell phone.

According to court filings, Smith’s son got into “a verbal dispute” with a cafeteria worker on Feb. 3 “in regards to demanding additional food.”

Smith’s kid was no longer at the school when the affidavit was submitted on April 7, and attempts to contact Smith were fruitless.
