Russia has barred Prime Minister Boris Johnson and several senior ministers from entering the country because of the United Kingdom’s “hostile” attitude on the Ukraine conflict.

Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, Defense Secretary Ben Wallace, and ten other senior politicians, most of whom are Cabinet members, have also been forbidden from attending.

Moscow claimed the decision had been made in retaliation for the United Kingdom’s sanctions against it following its invasion of Ukraine.

“London’s unbridled information and political campaign aimed at isolating Russia internationally, creating conditions for containing our country and strangling the domestic economy” were responsible for its decision.”-Russia’s foreign ministry said in a statement.

It added: “In essence, the British leadership is deliberately aggravating the situation around Ukraine, pumping the Kyiv regime with lethal weapons and coordinating similar efforts on the part of NATO.”
