Foreign Ministry of Egypt condemned Israeli police for assaulting Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Mosque and committing violence against Palestinians in its courtyards, resulting in scores of injuries and arrests.

Ahmed Hafez, a ministry spokesperson, emphasized the need of “self-restraint, ensuring complete safety for Muslim worshipers and letting them to perform Islamic rites at Al-Aqsa Mosque, which is an Islamic endowment entirely for Muslims.”

This will have an impact on the region’s “stability and security” and “the rejection of violence and provocation in all its manifestations, including demands for storming Al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of Ramadan.”
