Shoukry reiterated his desire for increased trade and direct Spanish investment in sectors such as infrastructure, transportation, water, renewable energy, and electric mobility.

The ministers addressed climate change cooperation, Egypt’s hosting and chairmanship of COP27, and Spain’s support for Egypt’s collaboration with the EU.

They also addressed international and regional topics of mutual interest, including Ukraine, Palestine, Libya, and Ethiopia’s Renaissance Dam, according to Ahmed Hafez, spokesperson for Egypt’s Foreign Ministry.
