Ethiopians enroll for war at the Russian embassy

Dozens of young Ethiopians continued to congregate Tuesday at the Russian embassy in the city, Addis Ababa, amid reports of soldiers being recruited to participate in Ukraine’s civil conflict.
However, Maria Chernukhina, the embassy’s spokesperson, stated that no recruitment was taking place in Ethiopia.
She stated that the crowd was demonstrating their support for Russia.
“The embassy receives a high volume of people expressing their support for Russia,” she told.
“Several of them have expressed an interest in assisting us in any manner they can. However, we are not a recruiting firm “Additionally, Ms Chernukhina.
Numerous Ethiopians were spotted visiting the embassy with their personal paperwork.
According to the BBC, a young man waiting at the gate is searching for a big wage as a soldier or to be employed in any other profession available.
“I enjoy Russia as well,” he added.
Others stated that they had heard rumors about Russia’s high salary.
Ethiopia was one of many nations who did not attend a United Nations session to vote on a resolution condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
17 African countries, including South Africa, voted against the resolution.
