EU sanctions: Greece takes hold of Russian tanker

Greek police detained a Russian tanker off the coast of the Greek island of Evia, on Tuesday.

The spokesperson confirmed that Pegas, the crude oil tanker was sailing with 19 crew members, when the ship was seized near the town of Karystos on April15.

The authorities took hold of the ship, but could not seize the oil cargo.

The EU sanctions package exempted food, humanitarian aid, and energy vessels.
