India: A man falls from helicopter, while 3 die in a hopeless rescue

A distressing video covers the moment of a man falling from an army helicopter in India, 14 April. 

Three people die during the doomed rescue of tourists, who are stuck to cable cars for 46 hours.

Around 60 people were trapped at Trikut Hills. The footage shows a man swinging with a winch, around the helicopter.

People cheered when he made it to the chopper, yet suddenly he fell, turning their cheers into screams of horror.

He was amongst the three people who shoved to death.

While 12 people were seriously injured and hospitalized.

The people who fell, involved two identified tourists, and a 60-year-old, Shobha Devi.

These people were among the final 15 people, who were being rescued. They were trapped until late Tuesday.

Some people were injured after jumping from trapped cars.

Another footage was released by the army that showed some of the successfully rescued ones.

Local officials ordered the urgent investigation, as the cable cars had stopped at a 1,300-feet high mountain.

It had trapped dozens inside.

According to Gov. Ramesh Bais, the tragedy “very sad and painful,” as it was a world-famous religious site.
