Journalist was killed in a Russian strike on Kyiv during a UN visit

Vira Hyrych, a journalist for Ukraine’s Radio Liberty, was murdered in one of multiple Russian missile strikes on Kyiv on Thursday, according to the station. Vira Hyrych was described as “a brilliant and nice person, a true professional” who was killed when a missile struck her home.

At the time of the attacks, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres was meeting with Ukraine’s President Zelensky in Kiev.

Russia, according to Zelensky, is attempting to disgrace the United Nations.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian officials said that an operation to evacuate citizens from the Azovstal steel mill will take place today.

Two UK humanitarian workers in Ukraine have been kidnapped by Russian forces, according to an aid agency. Nato Deputy Secretary-General Mircea Geoana told the BBC that it may be years before Ukraine war is over.
