Kate Middleton and Prince William congratulate their personal friend, Sam Waley-Cohen, on his victory

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, congratulate their close friend, Sam Waley-Cohen for winning the 2022 Grand National.

The official account of the Royal couple tweeted, “Huge congratulations to @swaleycohen for winning the Grand National. What a way to retire!”

Sam rode Noble Yeats to victory in the Grand National at Aintree in his final horse competition.

He dedicated his victory to his brother, who died of cancer.

“Sam is the man, incidentally, who helped get Prince William and Kate Middleton back together after they temporarily split up,” says Richard Eden, a royal expert.

He was also a guest at their wedding, in the year 2011.

Sam’s brother, Thomas, attended college with Kate Middleton in 2004.
