NATO allies may be involved in the safe evacuation of Mariupol residents

Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs, Victoria Nuland, says that if the settlement leads to evacuation of Ukrainian civilians, NATO allies will be involved in it.

There is some chance that the Russians might allow the evacuation of civilians and wounded soldiers from Mariupol.

“However, such an arrangement has fallen apart a number of times before,” she cautioned.

She said that it is up to them to allow a peaceful escape.

The blockade of Mariupol makes the brutality apparent, and the war crimes Vladimir Putin is committing, she added.
