Authorities say dozens of people were injured in a significant shooting incident at a subway station in Brooklyn, where a suspect fired at least 33 rounds and used smoke bombs on the train.

This brutal attack injured over 29 people, WABC reported that juvenile victims, including a 12-year-old, were transferred to Maimonides Hospital in varied circumstances.

Officials stated the children were on their way to school when the attack occurred.

The incident left a 16-year-old victim with a hand injury, which required surgery, according to officials.

The healing of the child will take time, according to his surgeons.
