Iryna Vereshchuk, Ukraine’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for the Reintegration of Temporarily Occupied Territories, believes that only a united Ukraine, Europe, and the United States can stop Russian President Vladimir Putin.

According to Ukrinform, she mentioned this in an interview with an Italian TV programme, alluding to the Ministry of Reintegration’s Telegram channel.

“Putin can be stopped by the Ukrainian army, sanctions, and dialogue,” Vereshchuk said.

At the same time, she emphasised that Ukraine will not be able to deal on its own; participation from European countries as well as the US is required. Sanctions are required, including an oil and gas embargo.

“The more international isolation and embargo there is, the sooner he (Putin – ed.) will sit down at the negotiating table.”

The official emphasised that Ukraine’s President, Volodymyr Zelensky, is willing to meet with Putin to discuss Russian aggression and the evacuation of Russian soldiers from Ukraine.

At the same time, Vereshchuk pointed out that Putin uses weaponry to scare not only Ukraine, but also other countries. “He is the enemy of all civilised, democratic societies! Everyone should be aware of this “she stated

Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24. Artillery, multiple rocket launchers, and ballistic missiles have been used by Russian soldiers to attack and destroy major infrastructure facilities, as well as conduct heavy shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages.
