Russia threatens to cut off European gas supply

Russia exclaimed that  the gas supply will not be closed to the Europeans after Moscow set the deadline for payments to be made in the Russian currency.

Russian President Vladmir Putin signed a decree that says that the buyers should pay in rubles, Moscow did put up this statement last week. Analysts said that the move was designed to shelter Russia and block European nations from receiving gas.

Moscow has thought of leveraging its position as an energy exporter as a chance to counter western sanctions for invading Ukraine. European have countries have impose sanctions but haven’t imposed any sanctions on the energy embargo due to their own dependence on Russia for gas.
