According to a military source and an industry official, the Pentagon will meet with its top weapons producers on Wednesday to examine the sector’s ability to defend Ukraine in a long battle with Russia.

There will be ideas to speed up current systems and build new systems important to the Military Department’s support for Ukraine and its allies in the confidential debate, a defence official said.

It is “part of our ongoing, frequent dialogue with industry partners to ensure a resilient industrial base that is responsive to the department’s needs,” the official said.
