Ukraine war: As the EU sanctions deadline approaches, trucks are stalled at the Poland-Belarus border

A huge row of trucks has been formed on the Poland-Belarus border.
The Russian and Belarusian drivers try to leave the EU, following a sanctions deadline.
The line extended to 80 km. Some drivers were stuck for up to 33 hours.
The EU has banned trucks from Russia and Belarus. Only medicine, mail or petroleum carrying trucks can enter.
This sanction is part of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
Long queues remained as the midnight deadline came.
A Belarusian driver stated, “There are still many kilometers to drive… so it’s unrealistic.”
There were 230-400 vehicles at border crossings.
The waiting time had been lessened to 12 hours, after the passing of deadline.
The situation is vague, as it is unclear as to what will happen to thousands of other trucks from both the countries.
Several countries have imposed sanctions against Russia, and its main ally Belarus.
Both countries have responded with their own measures.
