President Zelensky of Ukraine has announced that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken will visit Kyiv. The visit, which Zelensky claims will involve US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, has yet to be confirmed by the White House.

It would be the first visit by senior American officials since the invasion of Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Ukraine reports that an apartment complex in Odesa was attacked by rockets on Saturday, killing eight people, including a newborn.

A Ukrainian general says Russia is continuing to fire bombs on the steelworks where Mariupol’s final defenders are holed up, and that another attempt to evacuate residents from the larger southern port city will be made.
