A white cop fatally shot a black man in the back of the head, according to police footage.
Patrick Lyoya, 26, is seen running from a police officer after a traffic check on April 4 in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Mr Lyoya is then shot as he lies face-down on the ground, with the officer, who has not been identified, asking him to “let go” of his Taser.
Protests have erupted in response to the shooting.
Hundreds of protesters gathered outside the Grand Rapids Police Department (GRPD), asking that the name of the officer involved be made public.The event is currently being investigated by state police.
According to the office of civil rights attorney Benjamin Crump, who is representing the Lyoya family, Mr Lyoya is originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo and has lived in Grand Rapids for roughly five years.
