13 teenage boys arrested in Egypt for harassing foreign women tourists

CAIRO: Egypt’s public prosecutor ordered the arrest of thirteen teenage males after they harassed two foreign women visitors at the Pyramids of Giza in Cairo.

The lads are currently in detention, according to a report by Al Arabia News, and an inquiry into the situation is ongoing.

After a video of the event went viral on social media, the guys were detained for following and hooting at the two women as they went to see the pyramids.

According to the journal, it is unknown whether the lads grabbed the women because it was not visible in the video; nonetheless, a voice could be heard in the background of the clip requesting that the video be given to the country’s tourist minister.

A tour guide recorded the video and has accused the guys of harassing the two women “verbally and physically.” According to the office of the top prosecutor, the youngsters have disputed the claims.

The boys, who range in age from 13 to 15, will be tried in a juvenile court if charged.
