2 killed by Russian shelling in Kharkiv region

Russian shelling of the town of Balakliya, which is on the frontlines in the Kharkiv region, has killed two people, according to regional officials in Ukraine.

Seven persons were injured in the shelling Wednesday, according to Nataliya Popova, an adviser to the head of the Regional Council in Kharkiv.

It included one youngster who is in critical condition.

Balakliya is located to the northwest of Izium, which is controlled by Russian forces and has served as a launchpad for raids into the Donetsk region.
